When Pupils Are Charged
Find out exactly when pupils are charged for lessons and how recurring payments are handled.

The timing of when a pupil is charged depends on the Payment Type you've set for them. You can set this individually for each pupil, so you're not locked into the same approach for everyone.
There are two options:
Take payment before the lesson
The pupil's card is charged around 24 hours before the lesson is due to take place.
Take payment after the lesson
The pupil's card is charged around an hour after the lesson end time.

You can set or change the Payment Type for a pupil from their profile page. Just open the pupil's record from the Pupils page and update the Payment Type dropdown in their Contact Details section.
Good to know
Changing the Payment Type for a pupil takes effect from their next lesson — it won't affect any lessons that have already been charged or are in the process of being charged.
If a pupil hasn't added their card yet, no charge attempt will be made regardless of the Payment Type setting.
